1 Information about us
1.1 The site is owned and operated by Skipton Building Society (we, us, our, the Society).

1.3 We are authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and Prudential Regulation Authority under registration number 153706 for accepting deposits, advising on and arranging mortgages and insurance.

1.5 We are a member of the Building Societies Association

2 Information about retiresavvy
2.1 The site aims to provide information via an interactive forum where individuals can discover what that they need to help demystify retirement. The site includes contributions by a community of bloggers and forum members who share their knowledge and experiences of retirement along with their thoughts, ideas, views and opinions relevant to those who are approaching retirement.
2.2 Unless expressly stated otherwise, the content on the site represents the views and opinions of individual bloggers, members and contributors and is provided on an information-only basis. The content on the site does not represent the views of the Society or constitute any form of advice, recommendation, representation, endorsement, financial promotion, invitation or any other arrangement by the Society, and is not intended to be relied upon by you in making any investment or other decisions.
2.3 In a limited number of circumstances we may:
2.3.1 post content to the site which has been drafted by us including commentary, thought pieces or editorial content. Where we post such content to the site, we will clearly identify that it has been produced by us;
2.3.2 post adverts, advertorials or sponsored content on the site. Where such material is posted to the site, it will be clearly identified as such;
2.3.3 provide links to products and services on our own website;
2.3.4 send you marketing or promotional information on our products and services. We will only send this to you if you have agreed to receive such communications and only in the medium you have agreed to receive it;
2.3.5 respond to queries raised by registered users of the site, directing them to sources of further information including, where requested, material contained on our main website.
2.4 In relation to communications of the type referred to in 2.3 above, we will at all times comply with the law and rules relating to financial promotions.

8.3 You must not misuse the site by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, the server on which the site is stored or any server, computer or database connected to the site. You must not attack the site via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of service attack. By breaching this provision, you would commit a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We will report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and we will co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them. 9 Limitation of our liability
9.1 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence, or our fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.

9.3 We will not be liable to any user of the site for any loss or damage, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, even if foreseeable, arising under or in connection with:

Section 2: Member terms
15 Your account and password
15.1 In order to become a registered member of the site you will have to register via our online registration form to obtain log-in details which will enable you to access the membership areas of the site, obtain additional materials, post comments on blog articles or within the forums published on the site.
15.2 By registering to become a member of the site and ticking the appropriate tick box, you agree to be bound by these Member Terms.
15.3 If you sign up to become a member of the site and are provided with log-in details (including a user identification code, password or any other piece of information as part of our security procedures), you must treat such information as confidential. You must not disclose it to any third party.
15.4 We have the right to disable any user identification code or password at any time, if in our reasonable opinion you have failed to comply with any of the provisions of the Member Terms.
15.5 If you know or suspect that anyone other than you knows and/or is making use of your user identification code or password, you must promptly notify us at email@example.com.
16 Uploading content to our site
16.1 Whenever you make use of a feature that allows you to submit or upload content to the site, or to make contact with other users of the site, you must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy. 17.1 The site is periodically monitored and reviewed. Although it is our intention to promote and encourage interesting and informative debate, we retain the right to review, and at our discretion, to remove any and all user content prior to or after posting on the site, if, in our opinion, it does not comply with these Terms, Member Terms or the content standards set out in our Acceptable Use Policy.
17.2 We expressly reserve the right to:
17.2.1 record, at our discretion, any user content posted on the site (including such content that is removed by us and/or the author) and maintain such records for such period as we deem reasonably necessary;
17.2.2 investigate any claim or complaint in relation to any content on the site;
17.2.3 edit or remove without notice any content, irrespective of whether it complies with the Member Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy;
17.2.4 disclose your identity to any third party who is claiming that any content posted or uploaded by you to the site is defamatory towards them, constitutes a violation of their intellectual property rights, or of their right to privacy;
17.2.5 report/disclose your identity to a court, the police or any other regulatory authority in the case of any serious breach of these if required to do so; and
17.2.6 suspend or terminate your right to generate content and/or access areas of or the whole of the site at any time.
17.3 We are under no obligation to publish or retain any user content that we deem to be generally editorially unsuitable or in breach of the Member Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy and we do not have to inform you or explain our decision. Any editorial decisions will be final and binding.

18 Intellectual property
18.1 Any content that you post to the interactive areas of the site, including comments on blog articles and forum posts, will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary. When you post any content (including, text or images/videos or other content that you have copyright to), you expressly grant us a perpetual, unlimited, free worldwide licence to use, store, copy and publish that content and to use it in relation to the promotion of or in line with the wider purposes championed by retiresavvy.
18.2 When you upload or post content to our site, you hereby grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use any intellectual property in the content that you post on our site.
