We’re glad you’ve dropped in to retiresavvy and hope you get some useful ideas and inspiration from this and future visits.
The concept for the site was conceived by Skipton Building Society around 18 months ago, as a lynchpin of its new Corporate Responsibility & Community Strategy, and another way of giving something back.
Skipton launched a new Retirement Service in July 2014, after extensive customer research showed people were really bewildered about how to get the best out of their retirement.
And no wonder, with so much change and uncertainty affecting their future prospects. Just in the last two years alone we’ve seen announcements affecting the age at which women can retire, and sweeping changes to the way people can access their private pensions.
So, our vision for retiresavvy is that it will complement Skipton’s new service aimed at guiding people around practical aspects of their financial planning for retirement.
We want it to be a place where you can get together with people just like you – as well as our bloggers – to help you hone and hopefully achieve your personal vision of your future.
We also want to help get the subject of retirement on the agenda in general, challenging stereotypes and championing the issues that really matter to you, our users.
Please do let us have your feedback about the site, and your views and content ideas by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org. This is YOUR community and we want it to reflect a wide range of voices, including yours.
We look forward to hearing from you!
